Dumont Center is one of the only care facilities in Westchester County with a defined ventilator care unit. Our 37-bed unit features the latest technology in respiratory care, ensuring your loved one will be cared for and monitored at all times.
Our highly professional respiratory therapists are trained appropriately in airway care and ventilator management.
This specialized staff has proven experience in not only prolonging and improving the lives of our respiratory patients, but also weaning your loved ones off ventilator support through rehabilitation. Our therapists will create an individualized therapeutic plan based on your loved one’s unique goals. Many of our respiratory care patients are also able to enjoy our recreational activities to stimulate their minds, bodies, and souls, as well.
Starting on your loved one’s first day with us at Dumont Center, our therapeutic recreation team will develop an individualized recreation program suited to their individual interests and activity level.
Led by our Director of Therapeutic Recreation, the recreation team plans activities, programs and special events for individuals, as well as small and large groups. All programs are geared toward socializing, building friendships and keeping active.
